Tiny dwelling in the City

A Bright, Energy-Efficient Studio on Vicars Street

This creative home renovation project in the heart of the city completely reimagined a formerly dark and neglected space on Vicars Street. With internal reconfiguration and a thoughtfully designed rear extension, the building was transformed into a bright, open-plan studio dwelling full of character and clever design touches.

A full-height glazed wall opens out to a newly finished patio, blending indoor and outdoor living. Inside, whitewashed limestone helps reflect natural light, enhancing the feeling of space and warmth. Strategically placed roof lights to the front and rear allow daylight to flood into the centre of the home — eliminating the gloom that once dominated the interior.

The result is a light-filled, energy-efficient city studio that feels calm, contemporary, and full of life.
