As well as developing and presenting courses on Sustainable Building, I provide one-off talks on the various aspects of energy-efficient building, including natural building.

Previous presentations included the ‘Sustainable Energy’ Course in the C.I.T., Architectural Draughting students, and the Mallow Garden Show.

SUSTAINABLE BUILDING NIGHT-COURSE

St. Johns’ Central College, Cork

A night course devised by Wiseman Designs highlighting the importance of energy efficiency in buildings and informing professionals, and lay people alike, to the various practices and methods involved in sustainable building.

Beginning in 2000, the course ran bi-annually until 2008 and developed very rapidly due to increasing public and professional interest and the participation of expert guest speakers.

The course was the first of its kind in the country and was CPD accredited by The Institute of Engineers of Ireland.

Topics included:

Sustainable Building Techniques & Materials, Wetlands Systems, Wind & Water Energy, Natural Building, Ventilation, Air-Tightness, Health in Buildings, and Lime Restoration.

GREEN BUILDING NIGHT-COURSE

St. Johns’ College, Cork

A 28-week FETAC Level 5 course.

Following the module descriptor, the course was researched and presented by Wiseman Designs, covering all aspects of sustainable building.

Practical, and up-to-date, instilling in the students a desire to investigate further.

The expert guest speakers imparted their on-the-field experience and knowledge while a practical workshop on natural building broadened horizons further.
